About Us
Humble Beginnings
Company president and owner, Paul Smyczek, founded ECS in 1984 to provide specialized, high-reliability electronic cables and cable/connector assemblies for aerospace, medical, and industrial applications.
Working in cooperation with aviation groups such as the FAA, ARINC, and the AEA, ECS introduced these products into the aerospace industry to support the integration of various digital, communication, navigation, and indicating systems. ECS quickly became recognized as a high quality supplier of specialized proprietary multi-conductor cables and of lightweight, low loss, high temperature RF coaxial cable designs and cable connector assemblies as functional alternates to the bulkier PVC style "RG" (MIL-C-17) cables.

As corporate capabilities expanded, ECS increased its in-house offerings to include turnkey installation provisions, design and engineering services, product conformity inspections, and AOG support. ECS has also taken a proactive role in working with regulatory commissions such as the FAA, EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency), CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration China), JCAB (Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau), CTA (Conando-Geral de Tecnologia Aerospacial - Brazil), and other aerospace regulatory bodies around the world to ensure product certification. These efforts established ECS as a proven leader, and we continue to earn distinction by providing innovative designs that reflect our understanding of the industries we serve.

In 1992, to address market demands and advance our position as a world-class supplier, ECS constructed a modern 40,000 square foot corporate headquarters, design office, and state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Franklin, Wisconsin. In 1998, ECS constructed a 40,000 square foot addition to this plant dedicated exclusively to manufacturing. The current 80,000 square foot facility, located on twelve wooded acres, affords ECS the capacity to effectively capitalize on present and future opportunities and challenges.
Today, ECS continues to serve multiple industries worldwide with additional regional offices located in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Seattle, Washington; Los Angeles, California; San Antonio, Texas; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; London, United Kingdom; and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
